The Bible's Story
The Bible is a story. It is a big story. It is a true story. It is a story that gives the best explanation to some of our biggest questions. It is a story that tells what has happened, what will happen, and what is happening now. It is a story in which each of us plays a part. It is a story that gives each of our lives meaning.
The Bible's Story is an attempt by a small community, committed to Christ, to learn and live the Story that the Bible tells. This attempt involves a daily reading plan that will take a person through the Bible in a year. Weekly lessons over each week's readings will be available and small groups will be discussing the lessons each Sunday morning. These lessons will be built around the following storyline:
There is one God, the Creator, who continues to govern His world and is active within it. And He has called from His world a unique people, through whom He is at work, and will be at work, to establish His rightful rule on earth as it is in heaven.
For the purpose of this survey of the Biblical story, the Bible has been divided into the following four sections:
God Makes a Promise to Abraham (Genesis - Judges)
God Makes a Promise to David (Ruth - Malachi)
God Keeps His Promise to David (Matthew - Mark)
God Keeps His Promise to Abraham (Acts - Revelation)
